Hearty western fare married with gourmet flair best describes the
cuisine at Trapper Creek Lodge, which is home to one of the best
Supper Clubs in the Big Horn Basin.
Trapper Creek Lodge is located in Shell, WY (population 50) at the base of the Bighorn Mountains - an hour and fifteen minute drive from Cody, WY and a two hour drive from the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park.
A Unique and Historical Lodge
The Trapper Creek Lodge is one of the finest and most elegant log buildings that can be found in the area. The history of Trapper Creek Lodge can be dated back to 1882 - when the first settlers arrived in the basin. During the roaring 20's, the 16-1 Stock Ranch (as it was called back then), welcomed affluent guests and "dudes" from the eastern states, including Ernest Hemingway, Owen Wister and Theodore Roosevelt.
After a full restoration of Trapper Creek Lodge to its formal grandeur in 2002, The Trapper Creek Lodge & Supper Club (owned and managed by The Secret's of Shell, LLC) was established in the spring of 2008. Joining the team is local culinary talent Robb Howe and his wife Heather, previous owners of The Wagon Wheel Restaurant in Shell, WY. Robb is a graduate of the well regarded Colorado Institute of Art in Denver and has also studied at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY and at the Greystone campus, St. Helena, CA.

Our Chef: a Local Talent
Prior to running The Wagon Wheel Restaurant, Robb used to work at The Hideout at Flitner Ranch as a chef. The Hideout is known for its culinary pampering of guests from around the world (www.thehideout.com).
We only use the finest ingredients in the Trapper kitchen and we aim at offering a balance between value and dining experience. Often, Chris Dalin, The Hideout at Flitner Ranch's Le Cordon Bleu schooled chef will team up with Robb to delight your taste buds with their combined creativity. The Trapper Creek Lodge & Supper Club's ambition is to bring you the best food and culinary experience in the Big Horn Basin.
All Food is Prepared in the Restaurant, No Pre-Cooking
We use American Certified Angus and White Marbled Farm Pork, cooked or grilled to your liking. What we serve is prepared in our kitchen by our chef, unlike many restaurants where most food arrives prepared and is simply heated up. During the summer, many of our vegetables come from local gardens, food farms or from our very own garden.

Weddings, Reunions, Meetings and Catering Services
Our restaurant and catering services will work with you on your wedding parties, family reunions, business meetings and private dinners. Trapper Creek Lodge & Supper Club is the perfect setting for your event.
Culinary Events of Around the World
During the year we organize culinary events by teaming up with US and European chefs. In October 2008, Geert De Coster, named one of the 10 Best Artisan Belgian Chocolate Makers (www.centho-chocolates.com), traveled to The Trapper Creek Lodge & Supper Club for a week to work with and to teach his secret's to Robb Howe and Chris Dalin.
A Unique Dining Experience
We offer personalized service, great attention to detail and a strong dedication to ensuring your dinning experience exceeds your standards. Your dining partners may include Wyoming locals, traveling friends and individuals who add to the quality of your experience. Occasionally, guests from The Hideout at Flitner Ranch will dine at the Supper Club.
